Cardinals Sport Relief

Cardinals Team Sponsored Run

On Sunday the 21st of March team members from the Cardinals and the Cardinelles cheerleading squad will be demonstrating their skills as part of an event organised by Team Ipswich and Ipswich Borough Council for Sport Relief.

The event is in support of sporting charities and has proved to be a big draw over the past few years and this year is expected to be no different.

Many sporting groups from all over Ipswich will be there and the event is centred around the Sport Relief Mile whereby people can choose to run 1, 3 or 6 miles in aid of Sport Relief.

There was laughter, sweat and tears last Sunday as the Cardinal nation ran to raise club funds for the upcoming season.

Despite the wonderful sun, the tears still ran as temperatures barely rose above 2 or 3 degrees.

Despite some dubious lap recording, the runners raised thousands of pounds toward making the Cardinals 25th Anniversary season a successful one. Wide receiver Ben "Gladys" Gladwell scored highest with 30 laps in the hour allotted - who said the speedsters have no stamina???

Great Job Gladys!

There will be pictures of the event on the gallery page shortly.
