2019 Season League Alignments

Cardinals News - 19th November 2018

The BAFA National League have announced the league alignment for the 2019 season and the Cardinals will continue to compete at the UK's third level - the Southern Football Conference 2 East (SFC II East).

With a couple of team changes taking place for next season the alignment confirmation will see the Ipswich side compete against some established names, one team returning to the conference, and continue rivalries from last season. The Cardinals will take on the East Essex Sabres, Essex Spartans, Maidstone Pumas and the Norwich Devils who are all very competitive sides and were in the SFC 2 East last season. Returning to the division will be the East Kent Mavericks who were in Division 1 last season and they take the place of the re-aligned London Blitz 'B' (now in Division 2 South). The Mavericks are a long established side and will be one to look out for this season as they were playing at the higher level during the 2018 season and will be strong opposition in Division 2. Another team staying in SFC 2 East are the Norwich Devils, who were very competitive in 2018, and we look forward to continuing the famous Ipswich / Norwich local rivalry for 2019!

So the SFC 2 East is looking strong again for 2019 and with the Cardinals recruiting strongly in the off season we are expecting some great match ups for the new season.

Below is the how the SFC 2 East will look:

East Essex Sabres
East Kent Mavericks
Essex Spartans
Maidstone Pumas
Norwich Devils

The league are due to publish the provisional 2019 fixtures in due course, with league's opening weekend planned for Sunday 14th April 2019, and the finalised fixtures will be posted on this website at a future date.
